Who could have predicted a freak snow storm in Albuquerque on the weekend before we planned to leave? We called the airport on Sunday, only to discover that the airport isn't plowed yet and the airplane is buried in snow. This is what it looked like the next day:

So on January 1st, we dug the airplane out of two feet of snow instead of taking off as planned.  But in the end this gave us an extra day to collect our thoughts and rest a bit from the arduous move out of the apartment (an endless trudge of carrying boxes in the snow).  We managed to free the little airplane from the snow and put it in a hanger for the night to keep it from icing up.

Finally, we got a good night's rest, and we're eager to start!
