At least it's not snowing

We're stuck here in Laredo, TX, because of low visibility and thunderstorms. After last night's adventures, we didn't want another challenging flight, and decided to extend our vacation to include the "charming" border city of Laredo. A grey, dreary vacation so far, but hey, it's above freezing!

People here are all naturally bilingual, and all the signs are in English, but it still feels more like Mexico than the US (or even Texas). Everywhere we go, we're addressed in Spanish, even though we look like gringos. Sadly, the forecast for tomorrow is that the storm will clear in the afternoon, and we would be forced to leave this fascinating resort. Oh well, we do what we have to do... At least this will give us another day to prepare for the adventures of our first border crossing, including the sure hits "dealing with US customs", "surfin' the Mexican airwaves", and "No, Commandante, these are prescription drugs!"

We hope you guys have a great trip and we'll try not to lose your mail by the time you get back! We also got messed up by the weather after Christmas. At least you're heading to warmer climates!

Digging two feet of snow doesn't sound like fun. Laredo doesn't sound so great either. So how come I envy you?
BTW, it snowed inJerusalem too last week.

      All the best,

      Hi there,

Your blog becomes popular from day to day. Lady D was willing to send me the url which means you have now at least 5 regular readers (including Ruthie that doesn't know howto read but enjoys the pictures)

Laredo sounds like a place from a westren movie...since you are stuck anyway why not expiriencing the spirit of town by starting a bar fight?

Have fun and put some pictures of you so we will actually believe you left home.

      great blog

      Amos

      Hi there,

      I'm a friend of Amos.

After requesting his help, he simply sent me to "look for my friends" (as he has an headache... I haven't heard such an excuse for years!), but left me with your blogs URL as a compensation.

So, I found myself reading your fascinating stories and a bit envy.

      Have lots of fun!

This is shaping up to be a great blog! Caroline and I are looking forward to hearing all of the flying and diving adventures. Please feel free to let us know if there are any loose ends that need to be handled back here in Albuquerque.

Ps. I'm forwarding this on to my brother who may also be doing some Mexico flying in the near future.
